Interleukin-1 Receptor Antagonist Protein, or IRAP, works by counter acting inflammatory pathways by competitive inhibitors of cytokines by competitive inhibitors of cytokines responsible for initiation and perpetuation of joint inflammation.

IRAP is collected and amplified from a whole blood sample collected from the horse which it is to be used in. It can be banked and stored for later use up to 18 months.

This therapy can be used in mild to moderate cartilage loss and can prevent further damage.
