Why are vaccinations necessary?

Maintaining the health of your horse is a primary concern of Littleton Equine and developing a vaccination schedule is a key component in this matter.

We suggest following the recommendations of the American Association of Equine Practitioners, which advises that all horses need vaccinations for the following:

  • Tetanus
  •  Sleeping sickness
  •  West Nile Virus
  •  Rabies

All of these diseases are spread in backyards and barns through insects, soil-borne and small animal exposure. There is not a reliable test that allows us to check for blood levels or titers.

Contact our office to arrange a time for your horse’s vaccinations.
