Founded in 1950, Littleton Equine Medical Center (LEqMC) has provided the Denver area and surrounding suburbs with professional veterinary care for over 50 years. Dr. Harry W. Johnson established the clinic as a large animal veterinary clinic, treating horses, cattle, pigs, sheep, and goats. Horses have always been a passion at LEqMC, and it was not by chance that LEqMC's original location was but a mile from Centennial Race Track.
Doctors Marvin Beeman, Charles Vail, and Terry Swanson partnered with Dr. Johnson to build a practice that was unmatched for dedication and quality of care. As time passed, local farms gave way to urbanization, and farm animals moved out of the area. Throughout this change, the horse community continued to grow.
LEqMC's focus on equine practice grew right along with it. Our commitment continues to be horses and their owners.
